Ansil Lee Walker was my grandfather. I was fortunate enough to meet him briefly as a baby. What I know of him really comes from the stories of my family -- the life he left behind. And so to me, he was never defined by the uniform he wore or the things he experienced during his years in the Army. He was a loving husband, an unwaveringly supportive father to three children, and a man with a genuinely great heart. He had a way of making the people around him feel cared for, and naturally loved his family and all those around him. Ansil Lee Walker served his country as a Captain in the United States Army, including an extended period in the Korean. He saw and experienced things that I can only imagine, and like so many who served, there were probably things he carried with him that were never spoken about. Despite everything he had witnessed and everything he had been through, he came home in good spirits to his family. He loved his wife. He supported his children. And he became a grandfather. After all the places he had been and all the things he had seen, he came home and chose to be something beautifully simple: a good man. But just like everyone, he had his quirks! He loved to scrapbook, he loved to cook, he loved collecting recipes. I don't think he ever imagined that the pages he carefully saved and the recipes he collected would one day become one of the many legacies he left behind. Today, I share this single scrapbook of recipes with you. More than 180 pages, a variety of recipes, carefully indexed with a laminated front cover. I hope its next owner appreciates the 80 years of dedication just as much as our family. And yes, that is him in the first photo above! Physical Book shipped within 48 hours. Front laminated
